"We demand our rights and we addressed the cabinet, but they did not respond to us so Sulaimaniyah doctors decided to suspend all work in hospitals," said Hawzhen Othman, head of the Doctors ’Syndicate said at a press conference.

Doctors and health personnel began in the cities of Kurdistan Region yesterday to organize a protest against the late payment of their monthly dues, which have been delayed for more than 50 days.

The Iraqi cabinet has previously decided to stop the salaries of Kurdistan Regions’ employees, due to a dispute over oil resources.
