Shafaq News / The leader of Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani expressed his concern on Tuesday about entering into the administrative and constitutional void in Iraq.

This comes at a time when the President of the Republic, Barham Salih has not yet assigned a personality to the position of Prime Minister, rather than the resigned Adel Abdel Mahdi, who currently heads a caretaker government.

A statement issued by Barzani's office stated that the latter met in Salah al-Din, Stephen Heikey, the British ambassador to Iraq and his accompanying delegation.

The statement added that "at the same meeting, the political situation, problems and challenges facing the political process in Iraq were discussed, as well as the demands of the demonstrators and concern about entering into the administrative and constitutional void."

The statement added that the relations between Kurdistan Region and Britain were highlighted, and for his part, the British Ambassador affirmed that his country desires Kurdistan Region to be strong and unified.

In another aspect of the meeting, views were exchanged regarding the situation in Syria and the risks of ISIS, according to the statement.
