Iraq oil exports to US reached 230 thousand barrels/day in the first half of 2020

Shafaq News / The US Energy Administration announced on Sunday that the rate of Iraqi oil exports to America reached 230 thousand barrels per day during the first half of 2020.

The administration said in a report, "the average Iraqi exports of crude oil to America during the first six months of this year amounted to 230 thousand barrels per day", indicating that, "this quantity is less than last year for the same months in which the rate of Iraqi exports of crude oil that reached 351 thousand barrels per day, and less than in 2018 for the same months, when the export rate reached 646 thousand barrels per day".

"Iraq came in second place as the largest exporter to America in the OPEC organization after Saudi Arabia, as Saudi exports during these months to America reached an average of 693 thousand barrels per day, while Nigeria came third at a rate of 70 thousand barrels per day and Angola third at a rate of 31 thousand barrels per day", the statement added.

It is noteworthy that the percentage of America's oil imports from Iraq represents 16% of its total exports.
