Second and third Nationalities agree about Baghdad negligence of their mother tongue and Christians attribute it to the security and service problems of
Shafaq News/ The MPs of various nationalities agree on the fate of their mother-tongue education in the country except the Region of Kurdistan, in time, which the Kurds and Turkmen emphasize on the existence of the negligence of their own language .
Christianity sectarian shared their opinion in that but they attributed the reasons to the deteriorating security situation and the service and living conditions.According to the representative of the Faily Kurds in the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region Ali Hussein Faily in an interview with "Shafaq News" that "there is a real danger threatens with extinction of Kurdish language outside the Region of Kurdistan." He attributed the reasons for this to the "negligence of the federal government to Kurdish Language and lack of interest in its speakers ."
"There are many factors of negligence, including the media, where the radio which has been speaking in Kurdish language only for more than half a century has been stopped , as well as the Spectrum TV that had part of programs dedicated to the Kurdish language. In addition the publishing house of Kurdish culture no longer has any role in the dissemination of publications in Kurdish language or any other activity which is now completely paralyzed. " Faily explained .
"There are obstacles on the way of teaching the Kurdish language in schools, colleges and universities outside the region lie in the non-appointment of qualified and trained to teach the language." He added.
"The atmosphere in the areas outside the region such as Baghdad and other governorates which have Kurdish presence is appropriate to teach the Kurdish language and preserve it," He confirmed accusing "The federal government of intentionally putting obstacles and barriers to education and development of the Kurdish language."
It is said that the city of Arbil has hosted the Scientific Conference of the Kurdish language under the auspices of President of Kurdistan region Massoud Barzani, under the slogan of language is a (national identity) for the period from 19 till 22 of September with the participation of dozens of personalities and academic specialists in Kurdish language.
"Ministry of Education did not give the required attention to the study of languages other than Arabic as stipulated by the Constitution in the new democratic Iraq." In her turn, the representative of the Turkmen in the House of Representatives Zala Naftaji said in an interview with "Shafaq News"
" The delay of the provision of supplies of the books and buildings for the other languages does not encourage students to turn to study other languages," She explained ,pointing out that "The absence of guarantees after the graduation of students from schools other than Arabic, including the appointment in government departments is also one of the reasons of no popularization of the study in those languages. "
Turning to the difficulty encountered by some students when they attempt to continue the study in the governorate of Kirkuk, with multi-national she said , "The college is open to all languages, but many students may be experiencing difficulties that colleges are all teaching in Arabic."
Naftaji indicated that students who graduate in the governorates of the Kurdistan Region and come to Kirkuk to complete their studies suffer the great difficulties because they do not Arabic, that those accompanying the "fears of concern to these students."
It is said that Article IV of Title I of the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq states that "the Arabic and Kurdish are the official languages of Iraq, and ensures the right of Iraqis to educate their children in their mother languages , such as Turkman, Syriac, and Armenian, in government educational institutions, in accordance with educational guidelines, or any other language in private educational institutions. "
For his part, the representative of the Christian community in Parliament and MP for the mass of Mesopotamia Emad Youkhana said in an interview with "Shafaq News" that "education in other languages is a new experience in the country and specifically the Syriac language has faced obstacles from the outset, but will disappear over time."
"The deteriorating security situation and living conditions and services in addition to the spread of financial and administrative corruption has a negative effect on the progress and development of education in Kurdish and other languages outside the Region of Kurdistan." Youkhana added.
And on the low desire of people of other nationalities to study in their native language the representative of the Christian community explained that "there are fears among the other nationalities of non-acceptance of their children after their graduation from universities and institutes in the country, but these fears are unrealistic because the competent institutes and colleges opened sections of these languages."
The former regime did not give importance to study in Kurdish, Turkmen and Syriac, which led to the weakness of native speakers outside the Region of Kurdistan, and observers confirms that these languages are facing challenges in the light of the current circumstances of the country.
