Blocks speeches emphasis for the expulsion of "Khalq" amid warnings of "revolutions" and Western pressure
Shafaq News/ It seems that the issue of the "MKO"( Mujahidi Khalq Organization) existence the Iranian opposition organization in Iraq, has become a major concern for the Iraqi government.
The positions of the effective Iraqi political blocs and personalities in the political process, are intersecting on its continued presence in Iraq and how to resolve the file of the Organization's presence in Iraq. The debate over the
organization remaining in Iraq, witnesses an escalation or being faint in different times , according to the repercussions of the political status.
An adviser to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, describes the presence of the "MKO" in Iraq as "unjustified" and demanded their departure, underlining that the United States and the European Union "are supporting" this organization.
"The Mujahedeen are the remnants of Saddam's regime and their presence is illegal on Iraqi land and not justified , so they have to leave." The advisor Abdul-Halim Zuhairi during a meeting with Secretary General of the Foundation Habiljan Mohamed Nijad in Iran said.
According to the website of the Habiljan Foundation the latter is a "non-governmental cultural organization founded in order to clarify the terrorism file in Iran."
"America and the European Union are supporting the organization (Khalq) until now, and the leaders of America and Europe are, providing support to put pressure on Iran." Zuhairi confirmed
"The other reason that pushes America to support this organization is to plan for some operations in Iraq," he added .
It is said that most elements of the MKO who are in Iraq, are living in Camp Ashraf in Diayala governorate ,which was established during the first Gulf War in the eighties and is now under U.S. control since the entry of U.S. troops to Iraq in 2003 until January 2009 when it was transferring responsibility of supervision to Iraqi forces, and the camp turned quickly to a growing international problem because of clashes between the residents and Iraqi forces, in which 34 people were killed and a large number of its inhabitants were wounded.
The European Court of Justice canceled in November 2008 the earlier decision of the European Union to freeze the funds of the MKO because it was included on "European Regulation of terrorist organizations."
With the continuation of the position of law state that rejects the existence of the organization in Iraq, the coalition reveals, that the government negotiated with some Western countries to accommodate the MKO, accusing some parties of trying to keep that organization as a " pressure paper " on neighboring countries.
According to the MP from the coalition of law state Sadiq Allabban in an interview with "Shafaq News", "The government rejects the existence of any organization on its territory, working against the neighboring countries, including the Khalq Mujahideen Organization of Iran, which stained its hands with the blood of the people," stressing that "The Government was exerting pressure on such organization to remove them from the country. "
"the government is negotiating with some Western countries to receive the organization in its lands because it has become undesirable on Iraqi lands ," Allabban explained ,noting that "There are some groups who have special agendas, trying to maintain the organization to create and make it as a leverage against the government and neighboring countries to them. "
Khalq Mujahideen Organization of Iran was founded in 1965 to overthrow the Shah's regime. After the fall of the Shah's regime as a result of the Islamic revolution, in which the MKO led a major role in the victory after the Shah's regime had executed its founders and many of its leading members, the differences emerged between them and the new Iranian regime which, reached after two and a half years of the revolution to fighting between the two sides in a continuous heated conflict to date.
For his part, the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council calls for the Iraqi government to take "more serious" decisions to expel the elements of the opposition organization of Iran. They have counted the positions of the Iraqi government as not firm in this area yet.
The leading man of the Council, Jalal al-Saghir said during a meeting with Secretary General of the Habiljan Foundation in Tehran, Mohammad Nejad, "The members of the Iraqi Council of Representatives released a great revolution against the elements of MKO," adding that " many awareness measures have been taken in this area in the governorates of Kirkuk and Diayala."
He indicated "When it is our duty to our disclosure of the crimes of this group in Iran, it is certain that we have a greater responsibility in the detection of crimes of this group in Iraq."
The American presence in Iraq is counted "as one of the main obstacles" in the way expulsion of the elements of Khalq from Iraq. He counted the role of conferences and exhibitions organized by the families of victims of assassinations carried out by these "terrorist group" in Iraq as "a very useful Awareness."
Alsaghir added that "It is certain that the Americans know very well the nature of this terrorist group, but they use them as a leverage against Iran."
The Iraqi government issued in last August, a resolution, that provides for ending presence of the PMO, and defined it as a terrorist organization involved on killing Iraqis, the Iraqi government to change the name of Camp Ashraf established by the former regime in the eighties during the first Gulf War to New Iraq Camp after receiving the new tasks of the responsibility of the camp from the U.S. forces.
The position of the Iraqia List, was expressed by a member from Diayala governorate ,who said "We know that the Iraqi government wants MKO to get out of Iraq, , and this position is under pressure from neighboring countries."
The member who asked not to be named in an interview with "Shafaq News", said that "The United Nations appointed an ambassador in Camp Ashraf to find out what the special situation in the camp is, and what the developments of events after what happened three months ago in the camp are, noting that " Iraq do not keep any organization within the Iraqi territories being hostile to neighboring countries from inside Iraq. "
He stresses that "Iraq must not enter any hostile party to its territory against the neighboring countries so as not to cause tension in relations with those countries."
Previously, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said that "The Iraqi constitution does not allow any terrorist organization on Iraqi territory, including the PMO." He stressed that the Iraqi government is determined to impose its sovereignty in the country and not to be allowed to impose any other policies."
It is said that an official source at the Ministry of Peshmerga, in the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, denied last summer that there is any plan by the central government and Regional government to transfer the "MKO" to the border areas of Kurdistan.
The Iranian Interior Minister Mustafa Mohammad Najjar said, commenting on the news that talked about the transfer of Iranian KMO to the mountainous areas of the region of Kurdistan, in particular QINDIL mountains ,that it needs following up.
Thus the issue MKO branched in Iraq and took a long time as it interacts sharply since the fall of the former regime in April 2003. So would the file of the organization be resolved and ended or the issue would take other long periods without ending ?
