Chairman of the regional parliament, calls Washington to press on Baghdad for the implementation of the Kurdish demands
Shafaq News/ President of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region demanded from the U.S. side to take a clear position towards Iranian and Turkish bombing the border areas of the region of Kurdistan,

"
This came within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Parliament of Kurdistan Region ,at the head of his accompanying delegation to the United States of America.
The statement said that "Kirkuki stressed the need of the U.S. side's having a clear position towards the ongoing Iranian and Turkish bombing on the areas of the region, as well as pressure on the Iraqi government to implement Article 140 of the constitution relating to the normalization conditions of the disputed areas, in addition to the outstanding problems between Erbil and Baghdad, like the law of oil and gas and the Federal Council and the Peshmerga budget . Also he touched upon the issue of deployment of the Peshmerga forces in the areas of Khanaqin and Jalawla and Sa'adia, which witnessed a serious deterioration of security."
The Iraqi government announced on 28 August for ratification of the draft law of oil and gas, and decided to refer it to parliament for approval but the Kurds have declared their rejection of the draft, describing it as a constitutional violation, the relations between Erbil and Baghdad.

On a related issue and within the framework of his visit, Kirkuki met at the World Bank Director of Middle East Programs for Social Development Mr. Frank, and discussed with him the status of development projects in the region, calling on the World Bank to assist the Government of the Region in its project development and revitalization of infrastructure services.
During the meeting the head of the parliament confirmed the readiness of the Regional Government to cooperate with the World Bank fully to develop strategic plans for development projects in the region, to ensure utmost transparency in the disbursement of funds and statement of disbursement, and he received from the bank officials promises to send a team from the programs development department in the bank to Kurdistan to coordinate with the Ministry of planning in the Regional Government to develop appropriate plans for the implementation of development projects in Kurdistan.
The Kurdistan Region is witnessing a boom in its economy through the influx of many investment companies to the region in various industrial, agricultural and urban fields.
