Social justice and prosperity of society guarantees the eradication of drug addiction

Shafaq News/ The former Minister of Health Saleh Hasnawi, said  to achieve "social justice" and the prosperity of society guarantees the elimination of the phenomenon of drug addiction, stressing that, despite the "proliferation" of social and psychological problems , the addiction in Iraq, is "low".
In a seminar held by the Kurdish House under the title (drugs are slow death of the community .. the causes and prevention), in which the teacher in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Mustansiriya Dr. Rafid Khuzaie participated and held in the Hall Shafaq Foundation of culture media for the Faily Kurds, Hasnawi the member of the parliamentary  Energy Commission said that "Iraq is the passage of drugs from Afghanistan and Pakistan, and part of Iran in addition to Laos, Nepal, Thailand and the mentioned areas consume drugs ", stressing that" Iraq is not safe from that. "
"The achievement of social justice and prosperity of society guarantees the elimination of the phenomenon of drug addiction," noting that "despite of  the proliferation of social and psychological problems the addiction in Iraq, is few." He added.
"Drug mafia is one of the reasons for the deterioration of  security situation," He explained , noting that "The work is being done now to build an advanced science center in the Faculty of Medicine at Medical City for the training of doctors and staff, .It is a research and treatment center."
And on the decisions of the executions that were carried out against drug addicts in the past Hasnawi

said, "The executions were exploited against people on the backgrounds of other issues as issues of addiction of drugs."

 

For his part, the teacher in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Mustansiriya Rafid Khuzaie touched on his lecture to a brief history of the emergence of drug by saying that "Man has used drugs since ancient times," adding that it "was used for political purposes since the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries by the Masonic world, through the formations of the Turkish Korean, Chinese mafias,

and others which entered on the line of drug trafficking and promotion to achieve political goals. "
He mentioned the dangers of drugs and he summarized  them as physical, social dangers , noting that "The health risks include atrophy of the cells and atrophy of the brain and diseases of the digestive and respiratory systems," stressing that "Drug addiction is linked to diseases of, tuberculosis and hepatitis virus , depression and delirium."
"The social disadvantages include preoccupation of addicts away from their families and the loss of money of the country," He continued giving examples  as "40% of Egypt's budget goes to combat the drugs while the trade of drugs in Kuwait is about 15% of the overall balance of trade," he explained,

"The addict neglects his family and care for the children and the wife and the drugs lead to produce generations of bad eggs, that contribute to the proliferation of crimes of murder and increase government spending for wars. " He added.
"The circulation of drugs or the cultivation of its sources are forbidden except by law and medical purposes," noting that "alcohol and sedatives are not included in drugs." He said about the legal aspect of drugs.

 

 

Khuzaie warns of the dangers of taking drugs without a prescription, noting that "a range of reasons for drug addiction are relating to the individual and the nature of family, community and social and cultural conditions, and poor housing and overcrowded conditions and grades of low education and unemployment, and lack of employment opportunities and the large size of the family and living  in big cities."
The researcher also shows, "The factors that lead to addiction, including the escape from the problems and psychological distress, depression, and the mistakes of the media as well as the lack of activity methods to spend the vacuum and lack of parents control, ignorance and the  lack of health awareness," adding that "the results of addictive disorder in married life, the increasing  suicide attempts and the increased rates of crime and car accidents, malnutrition, and warp embryos, abortion and the spread of AIDS and viral hepatitis, "noting that" the signs of mental appearing on the addict include lying surprisingly, theft and the hours increase away from home and retreat activities and hobbies and staying on private meetings. "
About the sources of drug addiction in Iraq, he  said "Some pharmaceuticals cause addiction, including alcohol and cough syrup, cereals of  reducing  weight, are  major sources of it," alluding to "the spread of drug use among Iranian pilgrims in Iraq, formed another source of its spread among certain categories of the Iraqis. "

 

"One way is behavioral therapy and other surgical treatment, and the electrical treatments benefits in this area." Khuzaie said about the ways to treat addicts .
He talked about the mental and health dangers of drugs and the reasons for tending to using  them by some people as to be  "a devastating secret weapon against people."
