Kurdish leaders condemn Turkish air bombing amid claims of UN and federal interventions

Shafaq News After the renewed shelling of Turkish aircraft on villages…

and border areas of the region of Kurdistan, which followed the shelling of Iran, the leadership of the Kurdistan Region called on to stop the bombing, calling at the same time the United Nations to have a role in this matter, while the second deputy of the House of Representatives  called  the Federal Government  to take strict measures to stop those violations and abuses.
The military official in the governorate of Dohuk had reported that Turkish planes bombed last Friday night a number of areas belonging to the Amadiyah district north of Dohuk.
The head of the Kurdistan Region Massaud Barzani said in a brief statement posted on the site of the  Presidency of the Kurdistan Region that "the Turkish jet fighters bombed a few days ago many areas in the lands of Kurdistan led to the death of seven civilians on Sunday, August 21, 2011."
In its turn, a statement issued by the Presidency of the Kurdistan Regional Government (Shafaq News) received a copy of, mentions "The Prime Minister of Kurdistan, Barham Saleh called on the United Nations during a meeting with the former UN Representative in Iraq, Ad Melkert, to exercise its role to stop the attacks taking place on the border areas of the region of Kurdistan and subjected the situation and life in those areas to danger. "
The Prime Minister of the Region expressed his refusal during the meeting, to the " lands of the region  being a gate to attack neighboring countries," which he described as "unacceptable," stressing at the same time "the need to respect the principles of neighborliness between the neighboring countries in accordance with the principles of international laws."
It is referred that the commander of the Iranian Border Protection announced that the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan of Iran (PJAK) militants are based within the lands of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and the government of the region is not able to protect its borders.
