stated that the Kurdish political leadership decided to deploy the Kurdish Peshmerga forces in the areas of Jalawla and Sa'adia in Diyala governorate , whether the Iraqi government, is satisfied or not, because of the suffering of the Kurdish citizens from the poor security situation there.
"The Kurdish military officials have decided to deploy the Peshmerga forces in those areas, to protect the lives and property of Kurdish citizens, who are suffering from the violence and displacement, whether Baghdad is satisfied or not." The MP Hassan Jihad said.
The Kurdish Peshmerga forces had been deployed in the areas of Jalawla and Sa'adia, Qaratapa in 2008, but after the violent friction with the Iraqi army during law enforcement operations carried out by the Iraqi armed forces in Diyala, the Peshmerga forces withdrew to areas of Khanaqin and Grimian.
