Minorities: Our rights are only dead letter and federalism is the solution for Iraq

that float from time to time on the surface of the political arena in Iraq, many of the members of religious and national minorities show fears of an uncertain future after the threats and acts of violence that hit them by armed groups.

"The Izidis, who live in the Region of Kurdistan for the first time in their history practice their religious rituals freely and safely." The Izidian researcher and writer Khairi Bozani confirmed in an interview with Shafaq
"The rights of minorities guaranteed by the Constitution remained a dead letter without the hands of the legislature stretching to put it within the legal frameworks that make minorities feel of   the legal protection." The Chairman of the Public Board of Mandaeans in the Kurdistan Region Hamid Sahan sees in a talk with Shafaq.
According to the Chaldean writer and media man Nauzad Paul said in an interview with Shafaq  "Christians in Iraq's demand of the establishment of a governorate in the Nineveh Plain is a requirement in the Constitution. This  claim comes on a geographical basis not on the basis of religion."

" Faily man is suffering from loss of land, as well as loss of identity, and thus loss of hope," Faily Kurdish MP in the Parliament of Kurdistan Ali Hussein Faily confirmed "Here it is true that we call this component as minority because of the scale of the suffering which far exceeds the suffering experienced by the rest of other ethnic and sectarian components." He added.
