the media work in Iraq before passing the law of journalists protection .
Batoul  Farouq said in an interview with Shafaq "That the draft law to protect journalists made by the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate has not been welcomed by many Iraqis and the news media and it was the cause of divisions"
For his part, the media man Hazim al-Shara'a said in an interview with Shafaq that  "It was better for those who are concerned in media codifying to issue a law to ensure free flow of information, because the Iraqi media men are suffering from the  great difficulty of the access to information."
The second paragraph of the first article of the draft law of journalists  protection has provoked many reactions in the media .Hazim al-Shara'a said that "In relation to naming the journalist in the draft law to protect journalists, there are highly problematic issues, no longer the conventional designations is  feasible in the light of the information revolution of our time the, "he said, adding that" The information of  the  major changes witnessed by the Arab world was not transferred mostly by professional media but by youth face book amateur, "and" Today we are in the twenty-first century, and we must not think of using ways belonging to  the last century, all the world agree we are  living through an era of information that is not overshadowed by walls and forts. "
The draft law of  journalists protection  sparked heated debate between private organizations and media workers  in Iraq, and  some organizations such as Journalistic Freedoms Observatory  calls for amending certain paragraphs of the law while  the union called for upholding  the law in its current form which is being raised in front of the House of Representatives.
