Water resources stresses the need to agree to ensure Iraq's share

Ali Hashim said in an interview with Shafaq that "The process of reaching an agreement with neighboring countries (Turkey, Syria and Iran) about the water shares of the Tigris and Euphrates is one of the most important essential issue for the future of water in Iraq, because the water sources of the Tigris and Euphrates originate from these countries," adding that "As a result of the exploitation of these countries to large quantities of water which affected the water share of Iraq, it became absolutely necessary that there should be a fair and equitable agreement to ensure the rights of Iraq in its share of water, especially as it has become an essential need of the country."
