Economic Commission unveils proposal to form an "Independent Commission for Housing"

Shafaq News/ The member of the Committee of Economy and Investment Abdul Hussein Abtan revealed in an interview with "Shafaq  News" that his committee worked for the last term with the contribution of a number of House members, experts and specialists on the preparation of a proposed bill to form an independent body for the affairs of provision of adequate housing for citizens with modest prices, "noting that" the Committee completed the final stages of the proposed structure. "

Abtan added that "one of the biggest problems facing the Iraqi people is the problem of facing  the housing crisis now," pointing out that "if approved this proposal, it will secure hundreds of thousands of housing units."

The member of the Economic Committee said that "the proposal will be presented at the beginning of next March, and it will be announced in detail."

The Member of parliamentary Services Committee and Construction Kamila Moussawi had said to "Shafaq  News" earlier this month the country's need to reach five million housing units in the case of entry of the investment companies that will work in various sectors.

Baghdad and other provinces are experiencing a big increase in the price of real estate and plots of land under a severe housing crisis, and successive governments have failed to find a solution to it and Kurdistan Region of Iraq is witnessing a massive rise in real estate prices due to the flow of Arab buyers.
