Iraq announces building a camp for displaced people near the Syrian borders

Shafaq News/ Committee of Displacement and Migration announced, on Saturday, the construction of a camp for Iraqi Syrian displaced because of the situation in Syria ,that is expected to absorb 1.5 million displaced people.

A member of the Committee on Migration, Displacement parliamentary Yasser Yasiri said in a statement reported for "Shafaq News", that "the agreement reached between the Ministry of Displacement and Migration and Anbar province to build a camp for displaced Iraqis and the Syrians because of the situation in Syria," expected to accommodate 1.5 million displaced people. "

"The camp will be built near the Alwaleed border crossing in the province of Anbar."

Yasiri said that the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, had informed the Commission of Displacement and Migration to build 1,500 housing units and low cost this year for the displaced in the interior.

He explained that during a meeting with the Commission addressed to the subject of camp refugees in the Alwaleed and stated in the letter of the Ministry of Interior, which requests the closure of the camp as it will  become a place of outlaws was agreed to distribute to the provinces until they find a suitable place for them in the event of closure of the camp.
