Shafaq News/ Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani, approved on Thursday, of the resignation of the provincial government made by Barham Salih, at a time when the Kurdistan Barzani party's candidate officially assigned Nijirvan Barzani  to begin forming the new government.

 

A source in the Presidency of Kurdistan Region said  "The region's president Massoud Barzani approved on Thursday afternoon of the resignation of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Barham Salih, which he  presented this morning," reporting that Barzani "had entrusted him to  conduct the work of the government until the formation of the new government."

"The decision of this assignment  will continue until the seventh squad headed by Vice-President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Nijirvan Barzani is announced. “ The source said .

Salih announced at a news conference in Sulaimaniyah last month that he had submitted his resignation to the President of the province last September, but Barzani asked him last October to stay in office through the beginning of this year.
