Barzani calls Zebari to obtain the support of the countries in the world to declare a Kurdish State
Shafaq News/ The Turkish newspaper "Milliyet" brought forward on Thursday a number of reports that talk about the readiness of the Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani to declare an independent Kurdish state.
The presence of Kurds according to the geographical area is increasing in Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran, but those countries oppose any move to secede.
According to these reports that "Shafaq News", have seen, Barzani has held a meeting with Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, during which he stressed the need for the latter to obtain the support of many countries in the world for the announcement of an independent Kurdish state in the region.
These reports contained that there are "talks under way aimed at obtaining the support of Turkish State to Kurdish state likely officially announced as an attempt to take advantage of the political vacuum in Iraq which is moving into an uncertain future following the recent developments between Maliki and Hashimi following the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq."
As these reports spoke that "America believes that the Kurdistan Region is currently not ready to declare a Kurdish state, and that Britain and France did not announce clear political attitudes today."
According to Turkish newspaper reported on these reports, Massoud Barzani, requested Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, to urge Iraqi Kurds ambassadors in the European capitals to exercise an important role for their support for the declaration of the state of Kurdistan in the region.
The Turkish newspaper Iedenlk revealed earlier the decision to Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani announced that an independent Kurdish state could open the way for the historic results in the region, indicating to the reservation of President Jalal Talabani to announce it at the present time.
It is argued that the choice of the Kurdish people is now with the federal Iraq because they see that the failure of the federal government in the administrating of the country's political and security and in the area of services aspects and the marginalization of provincial demands encourages establishment of regions and Kurdistan may have the final word in this field.
It is noteworthy that the Kurds decided in 1946 to establish the Republic of Mahabad in northwestern Iran, but it was a short-lived mini-state . It was only Soviet-backed Kurdish republic and it was not internationally recognized.
