Khuzaie announces the participation of the armed groups in the elections and the joining of their leaders to the reconciliation plan
Shafaq News/ Advisor to the Prime Minister for national reconciliation affairs announced on Thursday, the participation of all the armed factions in the upcoming elections and they joined the reconciliation plan , with the exception of al-Qaeda and the Ba’ath Party, pointing out that the leaders of some factions will announce their joining the political process.
Amir Khuzaie said to" Shafaq News", "The government had understandings with several armed factions that laid down its arms in recent times, having vowed not to prosecute its members, except those on whom there are personal claims or killing issues that judiciary will prosecute.
He added that "members of armed groups, in turn, pledged to abide by the constitution and regulations of the Iraqi reconciliation, at a time when increasing numbers of recruits to national reconciliation, where there are only some of the leaders who in turn will announce their engagement in the political process."
"all the factions that have joined the reconciliation project will participate in the election, whether provincial elections or the forthcoming parliamentary elections." He added.
Advisor of national reconciliation stressed that "Those who excluded themselves or they were excluded by the Iraqi constitution such as Al Qaeda, and the Ba’ath party are remaining in the category of terrorism." He added.
The chairman of the Issuing Sunnis Fatwas group Mehdi Sumaidaie said to "Shafaq News", earlier, that most of the factions of "Salafi Jihad" have a desire to throw up arms and join the reconciliation project, while stressing that the factions of Sufism have shown a strong response to throw the weapon as well.
