Shafaq News/ Deputy President of the Republic Khudair Khuzaie ,said on  Sunday, that Iraq is ready to provide the necessary guarantees for Swedish companies planning to invest in the Iraqi market, calling for the Swedish government to cooperate in the scientific and medical staff for training of Iraqi staff .Khuzaie said in a statement issued by his office after meeting with the Swedish ambassador in Baghdad "Shafaq  News" has received copy of it  that "Iraq is ready to provide all the guarantees required by the investment companies to enter the Iraqi market for the implementation of major projects."

Khuzaie called the Swedish government to "cooperate in the scientific and medical staff through the training of Iraqi staff in Sweden and the construction of hospitals and medical institutions to support experts and modern medical equipment."

He stressed that "the two countries have elements of success of the partnership in all areas."

The Iraqi parliament acknowledged in October 2006 investment law of Iraq, who said at the time that it would open the doors widely to foreign investment, due to offering a lot of facilities to foreign investors, many foreign companies are still hesitant because of fears of the security situation to be unstable in Iraq .

It is incumbent upon investors to submit their projects  to the National Commission for Investment, or the Investment Commission of the region, or province, to get investment licenses, and they  can apply for investment license to the "department  of the single-window", developed by the National Investment Commission, and authorized to inform the investor the final decision in 45 days, to eliminate administrative red tape in granting investment licenses.
