Shafaq News/ Dean of the Faculty of Arts revealed last Saturday, that the decision of the Ministry of Higher Education to release him from the position of Dean is a violation of the law and rules of professionalism, while pointing out that the ministry based its decision on the "exempting of all Deans whose terms of office exceeded 4 years," asserting that there are many Deans  who are in the position of Dean  for over than this period but the ministry has  not taken a decision to dismiss them .The former Dean of the Faculty of Arts Aqil Mahdi said to "Shafaq  News", "The decision of the Ministry of Higher Education dismissed me as Dean of the Faculty of Arts is contrary to law They  did not comply with the rules of professional achievements of the Faculty of Arts during my administration of this college."

He said, "the ministry had to take the opinion of the advisers in the ministry or the university, as well as they should take the opinion of the presidency of the University of Baghdad in any decision to exempt the deans of the affiliated university."

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research exempted, earlier, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Aqil Mahdi from his post and Qasim Mu’nis received the office instead.
