Shafaq News/ The Parliamentary Committee of Seven responsible for monitoring the investigation in the case of Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi, revealed Wednesday, for the issue of the al-Hashemi case defendants are not subjected to torture, or any physical or moral pressure, noting that the investigation procedures are conforming to the law and there are no violations.
The Iraqia List MP Khalid Al-Alwani has revealed on Saturday to "Shafaq News" that the House of Representatives approved the formation of a parliamentary committee comprising members from all political blocs will follow up the investigation in the case of Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi and make sure if it was politicized or not.
A member of the Parliamentary Committee of Seven Amir Kanani said in an interview with "Shafaq News", that "by the Office order issued by the Presidency of the Council of Representatives a committee was formed to follow-up confessions of Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi protection elements ," noting that "the work concentrated on two things, one to consider the possibility of the existence of abuses of the right of the accused or not, and second to ensure the provision of guarantees for the accused. "He said that "the Committee asked the defendants if they had been subjected to torture or pressure, but they denied that ,with the exception of one of the accused who said that he was subjected to torture."
"the judiciary has decided to send him to the medical examination and it was revealed from his body, that there was not any trace of torture", He said ,stressing that "the Commission called the accused to take off his clothes and they found that there was no trace of torture ".
