OPEC: the government oil bill is contrary to the Constitution and the Federal Court is to reject it

Shafaq News/ The parliamentary Commission on oil and energy disclosed on Tuesday that OPEC described the draft law of oil and gas provided by the federal government violates the Iraqi Constitution, and the Federal Court has to reject it  if it is passed in the House of representatives , noting that the dispute is still ongoing between the KRG and the federal government about  the bill. The Iraqi government had announced last July, the ratification of the draft law of oil and gas, and decided to submit it  to Parliament for approval, while the Kurdistan Regional Government rejected that project.
The member of the parliamentary Commission on oil and energy Qasim Mohammed Mashkhati said  that "there is a big difference between the draft law of the parliamentary Commission on oil and energy and government bill. The latter  has focused on the management of the fields, under the federal authority without the involvement of the regions and governorates, and this is contrary to the Constitution," asserting that "the mobility between the blocs was ongoing but the current political crisis prevented the agreement of  passing it  in the House of Representatives. "
The House of Representatives was not able to pass the previous oil and gas law, that was  passed by the Council of Ministers in 2007.
The dispute between Irbil and Baghdad is centered on 41 oil contracts signed by the provincial government since 2007 and now Baghdad described it as the absence of transparency in the signature, while Erbil recently rejected the draft law of oil and gas approved by the Iraqi government and sent to the House of Representatives for approval.
