Shafaq News/ Shell Oil Company, announced on  Sunday, announced that it will invest 300 000 Mqmq (million standard cubic feet) of associated gas burned in the atmosphere, as well as access Two million in the future, as pointed out that Iraq is losing approximately $ 80 per second, as a result of combustion gas associated with crude oil extraction in the air.
The vice president of Shell for the Middle East and North Africa Munir Bo Aziz said  "Shafaq  News", "Iraq is losing approximately $ 80 per second, or about seven million dollars in one day as a result of combustion of gas associated with the extraction of crude oil in the air."
Bo Aziz said that "approximately 700 thousand Mqmq (million standard cubic feet) of gas associated with oil extraction operations are burned every day in the air."
He added that "this amount will rise with the start of the oil companies exploiting the oil fields discovered and developed that were put in the first licensing round and will raise production to more than two million Mqmq in one day."
He explained , "Shell has in collaboration with Mitsubishi after signing the investment contract gas associated with the Iraqi government to invest 300 000 Mqmq of gas per day from the sum of one million Mqmq burning atmosphere every day and work period coming to invest 700 000 Mqmq remaining to end the burning of associated gas to extract oil." .
The member of the Commission on oil and energy parliamentary Bayazid Hassan in his speech to "Shafaq  News", "to take advantage of this gas in the provision of energy for many industrial facilities, productivity, and the search for sustainable alternative energies, similar to developed countries."
