A Kurdish MP: The Iraqi Kurds are to settle their cases by calculating the benefits of remaining within Iraq and the loss of separation
Shafaq News/ A member of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region, said on Thursday, that the Kurds must make up their minds at this stage, after the loss of balance that prevailed in Iraq, after the withdrawal of the U.S. troops , and the heading of the Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to be the "sole beneficiary" of it,
stressing the need to calculate the benefit of the Kurds to remain within Iraq, or estimate the losses that may result from the secession.Ali Hussein Faily told the "Shafaq News" that "the Iraqi political parties at the present time hold in store much sectarian conflict, assassinations and smear each other as much as oil that Iraq has got," he said. " these parties can go on this forever because they are forced and compelled to accuse each other for foreign treachery . "
"I guess it is not possible to give exact statistics of the losses caused by war and sectarian conflict, and most importantly, that no one can compensate them ." He said .
Faily saw that the "National Conference scheduled to be held soon, will raise the roof of the demands and expectations of the political parties because they are not considering or looking for a solution," adding that "the political parties can find an opportunity to implement their programs and their own agendas gradually."
Faily said that "The Sunni holds concerns that their house is divided into several sections The same things happens to the Shi’ite party, who also has the same fear," He expected " Sunni and Shiite geography split as well."
"it is natural that all political parties to talk about the united Iraq, but in this country, the Shiites and the Kurds are not willing to give up the gains they obtained, because they counted what they obtained as a natural right for them," He noted ,emphasizing that "The only thing remaining for the Sunnis is that they stop loosing more things ,and their efforts should be directed to preserve what remained in their hands."
"Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki can not be a winner or victor in this war alone," He expressed his belief, explaining that "Not only the Sunnis and the Kurds stand against this trend, but the Shi’ites also have the same attitude as well as the regional and foreign states."
He said "The possible achievable scenarios are many in Iraq at this stage, however unfortunately, the ends of most of these scenarios will be unhappy," noting that "The only recognized thing is that no party asks the Iraqi street people for their aspirations and expectations after these events. " He saw , "The Kurdish street knows that what it witnessed in Iraq in the last period was continued grievance and injustice," stressing that "the Kurds are not willing to make more sacrifices for an Iraq that the Iraqis themselves do not want when they see their partners in the country and the political process in this situation that we are seein today.
