Najaifi: Barzani had not been informed that we voided the position of deputy governor of Nineveh, for the Kurds

Shafaq News/ The governor of Nineveh Ethel Najaifi, announced on Wednesday, that  the post of Deputy Governor  had been voided for the Kurdish component  since six months, however, that the Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani has not been informed l about this matter, adding that the Kurds did not take the post so far.Najaifi said in a televised interview, "In my recent visit to Kurdistan Region  we informed the President  of Kurdistan we had voided the position of deputy governor of Nineveh, for the Kurds since  six months, but they did not take it ," noting that "Barzani showed no knowledge of the subject , so it is clear that no one had told him about it."Najaifi said that "the province  forces had been evacuated from the Kurdish Peshmerga forces  ," adding that " Kurdish-Arab relations in the province are good."

The relations between” Alhadba’a’ list , headed by Najaifi and the list of “Nineveh al Muta’akhiyah,” which represents the Kurdish component of province of Nineveh has seen ongoing tensions since the election that was held on the seventh of March of last year, following the declaration of Muta’akhiyah withdrawal from the positions which have been allocated to it according to the electoral maturity after accessing  to 12 seats of the total 32 seats and Hadba’a got the other twenty seats.

But relations between the two sides have witnessed a cautious breakthrough after the Kurdistan Region hosting the leader of the Iraqia List, Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi. Najafi  made a quick visit to the province of Dohuk, met Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani, who was then visiting the province after the events of violence due to the alcohol and massage clubs crisis.
