Shafaq News/ Sadrists announced, on  Tuesday, that the League of the Righteous  ( Asa’ib Alhaq) to join the political process will not "save them from punishment," stressing that they will punish them through the judiciary, even if they were in the political process. "The League of the Righteous are involved with the blood of the Iraqi people , they are killers and we will not allow them to enter into the political process." The MP of the Sadrist bloc Hussein Talib said to "Shafaq  News""the Sadrist movement will not give up and must take the punishment of the League of the Righteous, even if they were a part of the political process because they involved a lot of killing of the Iraqi people." He said .

"The Sadrist  will punish the League of the Righteous by the judiciary and joining the political process of punishment will not save them.”  He added.

The cleric Moqtada al-Sadr have accused the group of the  "League of the Righteous" that decided to lay down arms and engage in the political process of killing politicians and members of the Iraqi army and police, urging Iran to halt support for this group.

The group "League of the Righteous" emerged, after they had kidnapped a British expert and four bodyguards, in May of 2007, holding  foreign nationalities  from the departments of the Ministry of Finance, located in the area of Palestine Street in eastern Baghdad.
