The parliamentary cultural Commission denies choosing the current Iraqi flag within selected models

Shafaq News/ The Commission of Culture and Information, denied on Monday, news that talked about the choice of the present Iraqi flag in the models that have been selected previously to agree about an Iraqi flag again, stressing the need to speed up the selection of a new flag for Iraq under the " accomplished sovereignty " after the departure of foreign troops."The Committee on Culture and Media at its recent meetings did not discuss the introduction of the Iraqi flag now in the selected models, and the news talked about the Commission's choice within its models is unfounded." The member of the parliamentary Committee on Culture and Media Batoul Farouk said  to "Shafaq  News",

Media reports have quoted the Chairman of the parliamentary Committee of Culture and Media  Ali Alshilah that his committee decided earlier, to introduce the current Iraqi flag within the flags of the remaining six ones to the House of Representatives  to vote on a new flag.

Farouk stressed "The need to speed up to choose  the new Iraqi flag under Iraq’s sovereignty after the exit of foreign troops by the House of Representatives.”.

It is said that changing of the Iraqi flag is the requirement of the parliamentary blocs, notably the Kurdistan Alliance, as it believes that the Iraqi flag has symbols indicating the duration of the previous regime.
