Shafaq News/ One of the Republican candidates for U.S. presidency said, on Monday, that in the event of arrival to the presidency in his country he will re-send U.S. troops to Iraq to counter what he described as "Iranian ambitions",
criticizing the current president Barack Obama to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq.The governor of Texas and the Republican candidate for U.S. presidency Rick Perry in a televised debate pursued by "Shafaq News" that "if I got to the Presidency I will re-send U.S. troops to Iraq to confront the expansionist ambitions of Iran."Perry criticized President Barack Obama to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq, making Iraq as he said , "vulnerable to the infiltration from Iran.", "I think that the idea of our permitting of the Iranians to return to Iraq and control all the treasures, whether in blood or money, which we sacrificed it in Iraq, is only an attempt by Obama to be subjected to the liberals left-wing." He added.
"Obama could negotiate for a time period of our withdrawal from Iraq, I think it is a big mistake" Perry continued.
A poll for the network (CNN) have reported that the majority of Americans (78%) was in favor of withdrawing troops from Iraq, compared to 21% and 60% of Republicans and 78% of independents supported that withdrawal.
