Maliki approves to establish an opera house in Baghdad, and he confirms that he is a connoisseur of global music, despite his orientations

Shafaq News/ Iraqi musicians' union announced, on Sunday, for the approval of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to set up headquarters for them, and the opera house in Baghdad, noting that al-Maliki promised include  musicians with privileges enjoyed by journalists

and writers.The spokesman of the Federation of Iraqi musicians Sadiq Mohammad Sayeh said  in an interview with "Shafaq  News" that "Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki had agreed during a meeting with the Secretary of the Union of musicians and a number of artists, to establish the headquarters of the Federation of musicians in any place specified by the Union in Baghdad."And that "the Prime Minister pledged to the attention of the older artists and provide what they need for the health care of patients and send them out of the country if necessary."

 

Sayeh said that "the prime minister promised to include the  musicians with all privileges of journalists and writers," explaining that "al-Maliki said that the government does not distinguish between the groups in terms of the privileges and it look at everyone with one eye on this  matter."

The spokesman of the Federation of Iraqi musicians said  that "al-Maliki said that  in spite of my directions and my thoughts, but this did not prevent me from listening to the World Music."
