Source: Hashemi, seeks refuge in Jordan and King Abdullah II studies the matter

Shafaq News/ A source revealed on Thursday that Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi sought asylum in Jordan, while stressing that the Jordanian side, is studying the subject.The source said to "Shafaq News" "The Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi sought asylum from Jordan's King Abdullah II. ""The Jordanian government will take this issue into consideration." The source added.He gave no other information on the subject.The Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi for whom a warrant arrest on charges of terrorism had been issued, is currently present in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, after the Iraqi Interior Ministry, displayed  in the 19 of December, the confessions of some of his protection elements on their acts of violence on his orders.

The President Jalal Talabani emphasized, in the 24th  of last December, that Hashemi is present under his hospitality and he will stand before the court at any time and place within Iraq.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki during a press conference warned the Kurdistan Regional Government to allow the Vice-President Tariq al-Hashemi to escape, stressing that the non-delivery or allowing him to escape will cause problems with the region, and he asked him to extradite himself to  the Iraqi judiciary.
