Jordan: We have not received any official request for asylum of Hashimi
Shafaq News/ Jordanian government confirmed on Thursday that it has not yet received any formal request from the Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi to resort to the Kingdom.A Jordanian government spokesman Rakan al-Majali told a news briefing seen by "Shafaq News",
"no truth to reports in the media about a request from the Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi to resort to Jordan."The informed source revealed today to "Shafaq News" that Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi to seek asylum in Jordan, while stressing that the Jordanian side, studying the subject.
"The government (Jordan) has not received any request in respect to that of al-Hashimi." Majali added .
It is said that Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki warned during a press conference the Kurdistan Regional Government of allowing the Vice-President Tariq al-Hashemi escape, stressing that the non-delivery or allowing him to escape will cause problems with the region, asking him to extradite himself to the Iraqi judiciary.
