Legal Committee reveals a consensus of the blocs on the final version of the General Amnesty Law

Shafaq News/ Parliamentary Legal Committee, revealed on Wednesday, for reaching the final version of the draft general amnesty law, noting that the differences between the coalition of state law and the Liberal bloc has been settled.The Sadrists announced last March, that they have offered a bill for general amnesty for those arrested and sentenced with the exception of the cases related to financial corruption or terrorism, while the House of Representatives, ending last August, its first reading.The member of the Legal Committee Hassoun Fatlawi said  in an interview with "Shafaq t News", that his committee "has reached a final version of the draft general amnesty law after approval of its amended version, with all its articles and paragraphs, and is now ready for the second reading, having adjourned the current political crisis," expected to "insert the draft bill on the agenda of the House of Representatives in the next few sessions."

The most prominent matters  provided by the General Amnesty Law is that " a general amnesty to convicted Iraqi adults and young people from the remaining terms of their sentences and are released, with the exception of those : sentenced to death, and sentenced for crimes of murder, kidnapping, and theft associated with the aggravating circumstance, and crimes of embezzlement , rape, sodomy, incest and crimes, counterfeit currency, drug trafficking, and smuggling of antiquities. "
