The poet Gelizad criticizes the authorities in the Region , and declares his withdrawal from the Writers of Kurdistan Union

Shafaq News/ The Kurdish poet Qubathe Gelizad, Wednesday, directed a criticism to the authorities of the Kurdistan Region for  "compliment and keeping  silent" about the clergy, who "confiscate" the freedom of expression under the pretext of defending the holy sites, declaring his withdrawal from the  Authors and Writers Union of Kurdistan. He said to "Shafaq  News", "The authorities in the Kurdistan Region to propitiate the clergy, and keep quiet about seizing the freedom of expression under the pretext of defending the holy sites."The Kurdish poet charged in, earlier, Chairman of the Committee of Religious Endowments in the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region of "bypassing" the powers of the government and the judiciary after he issued a decision carried out by the security forces to collect his book " Icy bra is  filled  with starlings " of the market, indicating that the prosecution in the Region prosecuted against him without the presence of any complainant.Gelizad said that "Iraqi writer and intellectual, especially in Kurdistan is no longer bold in the defense of fundamental human rights, including women's rights, by the emergence of radical religious movements."

He stressed that he withdrew from the Federation of Authors and Writers of Kurdistan "in protest against the silence of the Union, and not standing with me when I was attacked by the clergy prosecuted against me in the judiciary of the Region because of my poetic collection (Icy bra is filled with starlings )."

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Culture in the Region of Kurdistan counted , earlier the trial of the poet Gelizad by the judiciary in the region as  confiscation of freedom of expression, pointing out that there are some of the clergy working to distract the Kurdish people from its  national issues and occupying it in religious things.

He praised the "young writers in the Region  for taking a page on the site (social networking) Facebook through which  they announced their solidarity with me and defended me," adding that "the only party that celebrated me and made my literary shield is The union of Arab writers in Kirkuk, and no Kurd party honored me to the day.
