Iraqi Communist Party calls for the disclosure of Kamil Shiya’a’s killers

Shafaq News/ The Communist Party, demanded on Wednesday, the Iraqi judiciary to declare its investigations in the perpetrators of the assassination of the former adviser to the Ministry of Culture Kamil Shiya’a, indicating that most cases of assassinations that have been revealed had occurred between the political parties competing for power."the Communist Party did not cease once the demand for the disclosure of the killers of the martyrs and among them Kamil Shiya’a, and today in the midst of the political and security repercussions that Iraq is witnessing we demand the judiciary to reveal those who killed him." The member of the Central Committee of the Iraqi Communist Party Jassim Hilfi  said to "Shafaq  NewsThe Iraqi security sources announced on 23/8/2008  that a senior official in the Iraqi Ministry of Culture  had been killed by unidentified gunmen in central Baghdad, explaining that "Unidentified gunmen opened fire from pistols with silencers on a car carrying Kamil Shiya’a ’Abdullah, the advisor of the Minister of Culture on the path of Muhammad al-Qasim in central Baghdad ".They said .

" Killers of many innocent martyrs are still not detected until today and martyrs of our party are not better than other Iraqi martyrs who were victims of terrorism." Hilfi said .

Kamil Shiya’a  was a known writer and researcher and literary critic . He was appointed as an advisor in the Ministry of Culture since 2003, after the changes, which affected the country and he worked with three ministers who had received the post of Minister of Culture and are respectively Mufid Algerian Nuri al-Rawi and Asa’ad al-Hashemi, and finally with Maher Hadithi.

Shiya’a who residened  in Belgium before the fall of the former regime, was the most prominent advocates of building a new cultural movement in Iraq, according to open civil visions.
