Parliamentary regions committee counts the allocation of 10% of the budget to the provinces as to step back and refuses to ratify it

Shafaq News/ The Parliamentary Committee of provinces and regions counted on Tuesday, the allocating of 10% of the general budget for the provinces as the Federal Government cancellation of its last promise to increase the powers of the provinces , saying it will not ratify the budget."The allocation of 10% of the general budget for the provinces does not accord with promises launched by the federal government to increase their powers, and this is a backing away." The member of the Parliamentary committee of provinces and regions Hajji Mahdi said to  "Shafaq  News" .

"We have formed a small committee to work on the transfer of the financial allocations of the ministries services to the provinces, taking into consideration the specificity of each province." He said.

It is said that the Iraqi government approved, earlier, the 2012 budget by $ 100 billion, "about 117 trillion Iraqi dinars," with  a deficit of up to 13.5 billion dollars, "about 17" trillion dinars. The Budget focused on the energy sector and oil phase first, and then the security sector, followed by the education sector, education and health.

Hajji said "the Committee of the Regions and the Provinces will not approve the budget of 2012 in the case to keep the current details, which reduces powers of the provinces."

Parliamentary blocs, called earlier, on the government to expand the powers of the provinces to contain the formation of regions demands. They called  Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to visit the provinces and see the suffering of their children, and warned of the collision between the provinces  and the federal government.
