Displacement and Migration: European countries, led by Sweden have a double dealing in the assessment of the situation in Iraq

Shafaq News /The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Displacement and Migration Asghar Musawi said to "Shafaq  News" that "European countries, especially Sweden,  have double dealing in their assessment of the situation inside Iraq. It alleges that it is not stable and is not fit as a work environment for investment companies, while it sends back Iraqi refugees forcibly under the pretext of the security stability in their country "."These countries refuse to send its companies to Iraq because it is not stable, in regard of security as they claim but at the same time  they forcibly return Iraqi refugees in violation of the principles of human rights." He added."These States to respect the Iraqi refugees and not to offend them, because that will affect the international relations between them and Iraq." Al-Musawi said.

The High Commissioner for Iraqi Refugees (UNHCR), announced last January 24,its refusal to repatriate Iraqi refugees  forcibly from some European countries, stressing the need for the return of Iraqi refugees to their country voluntarily not forcibly.

According to statistics of the Federation of Iraqi refugees, an estimated five thousand Iraqi refugees were forced during the past four years, to return to Iraq by civilian and military aircraft, and they were handed over by the officials at airports in Iraq.

A number of European countries, started since late 2005, especially Sweden and Britain, a campaign to restore forcibly  those Iraqi refugees, who have not received the right to reside there, and among those citizens of the Kurdistan region, as well as the refugees who returned according to their desire.
