Shafaq News/ Civilians activists in the Region of Kurdistan criticized, on Saturday, the Kurdish political leadership in the region, to "forget" the annual day of the flag of Kurdistan, which falls on December 17 of each year,
according to a formal decision issued by the Parliament of Kurdistan in 2009.Palwan Sheikh Mumi the official of the group said that the "Group of the flag of Kurdistan ( Groupi A’ala) and on the occasion of the flag of Kurdistan, raised thousands of Kurdistan flags in the center of the city of Dohuk and in government departments and high buildings, and they distributed thousands of other flags to the citizens," explaining that "these flags have been secured by the owner of a company in the city. ""The group is today, and the presence of many personalities Izidis, Christian and Islamic, to fly the flag of coexistence (Kurdistan flag) above the (Maltaye) hill to the west of the city of Dohuk," He added ,explaining that "We will make this day a day of co-existence in Kurdistan."
The Parliament of the Kurdistan Region issued, in 2009, a formal decision on making December 17 a day of flag of Kurdistan, to be celebrated every year.
The Kurdistan flag was designed in 1920, but that the green color was in the upper part of it, and after the establishment of the Republic of Kurdistan in Mahabad in 1946 by the President Judge Mohamed changed it , making the red color in the upper part and the green on the lower section of it.
( Groupi A’ala) i.e. the group of Kurdistani flag was founded in 2007 and now has offices in most cities and towns of the Kurdistan Region and has more than 5 thousand members.
