Endowments Committee of Kurdistan: We will refrain from Geli Zadah if the law absolves him

Shafaq News/ The Committee on Religious Endowments in the Kurdistan Parliament, on Thursday, said that it is  ready to stop the prosecution of the poet Qubath Geli Zadah if  he is discharged  by the competent court to consider the case, explaining that it understood the external sense of  his poems, not the profound implications justified by the poet. The Chairman of the Endowment Committee of the Parliament of Kurdistan Bashir Haddad told "Shafaq  News", that "our committee has no personal animosity with  Geli Zadah, and we will refrain from prosecution against him if the case was acquitted by a competent court."It is said that the Kurdish poet Qubath Geli Zadah charged in an interview with "Shafaq  News" yesterday, Chairman of the Committee of Religious Endowments in the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region as "leaving behind " the powers of the government and the judiciary after he issued a decision carried out by the security forces to collect his book " The icy bra is filled with starlings"  from the market , indicating that the prosecution in the Region prosecuted against him without the presence of any complainant.

In this regard, Haddad said, "We have not issued a decision nor implemented anything  because we are not executive authority and we are not to judge or  issue orders, but we asked the prosecutor to play his legal role , because we are convinced that the law will take its course."

"If there was a problem with the poet in this regard is with the religious scholars and able to review the Ministry of Religious Endowments  , or to speak with religious scholars in order to inform them on the content of his poems."
