Kurdistan allocates 50 billion dinars for the construction of three Olympic villages and a football Stadium

Shafaq News/ The sports committee of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region, revealed Wednesday, that the parliament pledged to adopt the allocation of about 50 billion dinars for the sport in the share of the Ministry of Culture and Youth of the budget of 2012, while the ministry asked to prepare designs for the construction of three Olympic villages in the three provinces of the region, including the construction of an international football Stadium  that can contain 60 thousand spectators in Erbil."The Commission has pledged to seek to allocate about 50 billion dinars to support the sport in its share of the budget of the Ministry of Culture and Youth." The member of the parliament sports committee  Shirdil Tahsin said in a statement to "Shafaq  News" ,adding that "there are plans to build three Olympic world-class villages in the capital of Erbil and the provinces of Sulaimaniyah and Dohuk. "

"Erbil has already been allocated a plot area of 165 dunums," He stressed ,explaining that "the Committee called on the Ministry of Culture and Youth to prepare designs for building the sports facilities and forwarded them to the parliament,."

It is said that the Kurdistan Region's share of the budget for 2012, amounting  to 17% amounts up to 15 trillion dinars.
