Shafaq News/ Iraqi government announced on Tuesday that the situation in Syria of its priorities as a result of its direct impact on the situation in the country and the region.Deputy government spokesman Tahseen said to Shafaq News", "Iraq's relationship with Syria is governed by geography, history, and thus any repercussions in Syria must withdraw to the reality in Iraq.""The Iraqi government is keen to avoid the implications of the situation in Syria on Iraq or the region and that the situation in Syria is one of the priorities." Sheikhly said"The Iraqi government would like to stabilize the situation in neighboring countries and the region which respects the privacy of these countries, Iraq is trying to be positive in all party differences, and we hope to solve things in the sister states in proportion to the stability of the region." H added.

The sources in the Iraqi government and close to the president has said for "Shafaq  News", that Baghdad is currently seeking to resolve the crisis between the Syrian government and the opposition, denying at the same time sending an Iraqi delegation to Damascus to discuss the matter.

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has said Iraq is ready to welcome the Syrian opposition parties to find solutions that meet the demands of Syrian people away from violence and civil war.
