Khanaqin threatens to secede and form a special administration

Shafaq News / The spokesman for the Defense Committee for the public interest in Khanaqin Suroor Ali told the "Shafaq News" that his committee "issued yesterday evening, an urgent appeal to the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region and the parliament, government and public opinion of Kurdistan and the media against the backdrop of announcement of the provincial council in Diayala yesterday, conservative provinces independent" , adding that "the Committee noted the failure of the central government in the implementation of Article 140 of the permanent Iraqi constitution and the districts of Khanaqin and Mandili intermediate zones of the province of Kurdistan no longer have any interest in staying within the framework of Diyala province, or provinces were."Ali said that "it is our duty to call upon members of the Kurdistan Alliance in the Diyala provincial council, to resign from office and declare Khanaqin and Mandili, a separate department and announce both the cities of Khanaqin and Mandili decision in this regard.

They threatened to "take another position of these members in case of failure to respond to the request of the masses that voted them elected," noting that "the masses will decide appropriate at the time."

He stressed that "the Committee called for the Kurdish Peshmerga forces preparedness to protect lives and property of citizens, the Kurds in Jalawla and Sa'adia and Naft Khanah and Mandili."
