Shafaq News/ The Ministry of Electricity, signed Saturday, three contracts with the Swedish company (ABB) for the rehabilitation of the electrical power transmission networks across the country and call for direct manner. A statement of the ministry "Shafaq  News" had received a copy of  said  The Ministry of Electricity signed 3 contracts with the Swedish company (ABB) for the purpose of rehabilitation of electric power transmission systems, as the first contract included the processing of the activation mechanism of breakers cycle stream type (GIS) capacity of 132 KV. P to Baquba, manufacturing plant, for one million Euros. "
The statement added that "the second contract was devoted to the study and processing schemes link the wire for the purpose of rehabilitation and matching link equipment operating and protection of minors III, and the ability to check converted Diayala network of 400 K.V. P, for the amount of $ 455 thousand Euros."
The statement pointed out that "the third contract included the processing mechanisms operation and breakers stream and materials up other isolated stations / 132 (GIS) as. P and 400 KV power transmission to the Central region and in a call for the direct for the amount of 6.383 million Euros."
Iraq had suffered a shortage of electric power since the beginning of 1990, and hours of rationing power increased after 2003, in Baghdad and the provinces, because of the oldness of a lot of stations in addition to the operations of sabotage  against the establishments over the past years, whereby hours of power cuts for citizens increased to about twenty hours per day.
