The Legal Committee confirms that the dispute between Maliki and Sadr's political bloc on amnesty law is still going on

Shafaq News/ The Parliamentary Legal Committee confirmed on Saturday that the dispute is still going on between the coalition of law state and the Liberal bloc about amnesty law draft, indicating the inability to determine the period of time to the legislation of the controversial laws in the parliament. The Sadrists announced last March, that they have presented a bill for general amnesty for those arrested and sentenced with the exception of the cases related to financial corruption or terrorism, while the House of Representatives, last August, ended its first reading."The dispute continues between the coalition of law state, and Liberal block provided a proposed general amnesty law draft. Both sides seek to enact the law according to his views," The member of the Legal Committee Latif Sheikh Mustafa said in an interview with "Shafaq News" , pointing out that "There are  arguments and bickering between the political blocs to controversial laws in general. ""To predict a period of time to determine the law of controversial legislation in the House of Representatives has become almost impossible," He added.

"If the agreement of the political blocs on one of the controversial laws happens, then it will be possible to select a known period for the legislation."

The most prominent statement in the law of amnesty is to exempt a general amnesty the Iraqi convicted adults and young people from the remaining terms of their sentences and are released, with the exception of: sentenced to death, and sentenced for crimes of murder, kidnapping, and theft associated with the circumstance aggravating, and crimes of embezzlement, , rape, sodomy, incest and crimes, of currency counterfeit, drug trafficking, and smuggling of antiquities.
