Shafaq News/ The economy and investment Committee in the House of Representatives, revealed Wednesday, that the volume of trade exchanges between Iran and Iraq will be $ 6 billion by the end of this year, pointing out that the Iraqi economy will not be affected by economic sanctions imposed on Iran and Syria by the United States and European countries."The trade exchanges between Iran and Iraq will be by the end of this year's $ 6 billion." The member of the parliamentary Committee of Economy and Investment Selman al-Musawi told "Shafaq  News".Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said during a joint news conference with Iranian Vice-President held in Baghdad, earlier, that the Iraqi side had signed six economic agreements with the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressing hope of " developing  the economic relations between Iraq and Iran during the next phase.According to economic experts Iran has become the most important trading partner of Iraq, and Iranian goods are characterized as being less expensive than Chinese goods, due to the low costs of road freight from Iran.

"Iraqi economy will improve after the passage of goods across the Turkish-Iraqi territory, but this does not mean that the Iraqis want to benefit from the problems of the peoples of the region." Musawi said.

Experts argue that the trade relations with Iran have improved greatly in recent years to the point that Iraq announced in March of 2010 his intention to establish a free trade zone near Basra, the second largest city in Iraq and the largest ports. Experts point out that these trade exchanges are mostly from the Iranian side, , where Iraq does not have at the present time what it can export to Iran.
