Draft law to protect journalists to parliament again

Shafaq Despite all the criticisms and observations raised by the media and legislators about the first draft…

of the Law of Journalists Protection, which was provided by the Iraqi Journalists Union to the former Parliament for consideration and approval, the latest information from the Committee on Culture and Media said that it had received the first non-changed or amended  draft law, to put the Committee in front of challenges not different very much from what Commission on Culture and Media in the former parliament had faced.
Batoul Farouk, the member of the Committee on Culture and Media in the Parliament  expressed her surprise in an interview with Shafaq for the absence of a modified version of the draft law of journalists protection :"In spite of the objections made by the Committee on Culture and Media in the former parliament on the materials covered by the draft Act, which caused the Commission's rejection of the draft law, the current Commission has not received a revised version from Journalists Union. "
A'alia Talib expressed her agreement with many journalists for their belief that the draft law in its current form in case of it has been approved on, will be in contrast of journalistic work and the Iraqi press. This draft does not consider the reality of multitude and democracy sought by the Iraqis. "
.Nevertheless  the Journalists Union adviser Mo'ataz Abdul-Hameed stressed: "There are adjustments that have been made to the draft law of journalists by legal experts in collaboration with the Union of Journalists, and the revised version was submitted to the Chairman of the Parliament Osama Nujaifi during a meeting with a delegation from the union three weeks ago ".
