Shafaq An interview with the writer and journalist Ibrahim Bajillan…

He has devoted his pen to serve the Kurdistani and Iraqi culture and literature for more than forty years . We had the following dialogue with him :

* Your ID and your experience ?

- My name is Ibrahim Muhammad Amin Karim Ismail Bajillan .I was born in 1944 in Khanaqin in Iraqi Kurdistan . My father died when he was still young , six months after my birth . After his death I lived hard life . I used to sell sweets during summer holiday to save the school expenses .The kindness which I received from my two ants reduced my hardships . So I worked hard in school till I finished my primary school study in 1958 and started my intermediate school .

* What about arresting you ?

- In 1963 when the black February coup happened , an order of arresting me had been issued , but I went to my village , then I returned after the fall of the coup government . In Khanaqin I issued a magazine but the  general students union belonging to the Iraqi communist party advised us to stop issuing that magazine lest the authorities may arrest us .

* How could you harmonize between the job and cultural activity ?

In 1969  I have been appointed as  electricity meter man  , but now I have got more than ten manuscripts ready for publishing but I need some support .
