We have no politician affected by the caricaturist criticism

Shafaq We hosted the Iraqi painter Mua'yyad Muhsin in Shafaq to talk about the reality of the art of drawing in Iraq and we had this dialogue:…

- Is there a correlation between painting and politics?
* Art is a free expressive idea about life matters, and when art ideas are politicized to express the point of view of a politician they become horns to glorify that politician and consequently they lose their original properties and this is a big mistake because art must remain free under any circumstances.

- Is caricature coherent with the politics more than other kinds of drawing?
* The caricature is an art of comedy which is always much more received by the recipients than other kinds of arts. It is different from the drawing for, caricature is possible to be put anywhere while the painting must be put in certain place . These advantages have made the caricature to come into contact directly with politicians without restrictions.
- Since the caricature contacts the Governments, can it do what is required to change the political reality?
*It is supposed that caricature can perform its task of change but the governments have no sense of empathy to take this art seriously and taste caricature topics. This is the question. We have no politician who listens to the painter and is influenced by his caricature criticism. There are many artists in the arena many artists are trying to play this role wholeheartedly through caricature.
- What do you think of Kurdish artists?
* Kurdish Artist has got a delicate sense because their environment is healthy and natural and scenic in which the artistic sense has grown in them, but political persecution that was done against them prevented them from appearing on the art scene but most of the Kurdish artists, have migrated with no return causing emptying Kurdistan Region and Iraq as a whole from Kurdish talents that was possible to become something distinctive.
