The former regime's genocide policy against the Faily Kurds

Shafaq/ Kifah Hadi

While many Faily Kurds are looking forwards to the sentences that will be issued next month against …

the former regime followers, many civic organizations called for the Iraqi justice  to regard the crimes committed against the Faily Kurds as genocide .The informed sources confirmed that the case undertaken by the Special Criminal Court was adopted in its accusations according to the Article (12) of the Iraqi Penal Code.

The judge and legal expert Zuhair Kadhim Abbud, explained to Shafaq : (The definition of genocide  is applied on crimes committed by the former regime against Faily Kurds such as deportation out of their home ,confiscation of property, killing of  the youth in prisons, as happened in the prison of (Nugrat  al-Salman) in Samawah desert  and other prisons without legal justification or decision to implement that, all these acts are regarded as  genocide actions  that should be adopted in the trials related to the issue of the Faily Kurds).

The writer and media person Ahmed Hamad said: (I personally was one of those who made a great effort for the collection of documents that reveal the crimes of the former regime against Faily Kurds. In many of them I found that the main reason that pushed the former regime to carry out displacement and genocide actions against them was that the victims belonged  to another nationality which was the Kurdish nationality. This underlines that the racism tendency was inherited in  all joints of the regime, .One of the worst inhuman practices were the  ones that differentiate between the husband and his wife and children in forced displacement. Sometimes men were deported from their wives or the wives were deported from their husbands who were arrested or eliminated .All of these documents are kept today in the Documentation Center for Human Rights. Hence  what prevents from regarding these sorts of crimes as genocide ...?).

Former judge and member of the Parliament of Kurdistan Rizgar Mohammed Amin, said (All  those who are interested in the former regime followers trial question who were accused in the issue Faily Kurds should not anticipate the decision of the competent court and have to wait until the issuance of its decisions. He also called the civic organizations and media parties to avoid the media statements in order to provide the appropriate atmosphere to issue a fair decision by the court without being influenced by the media).
