held its third General Conference that elected the new council headed by former secretary of the Erbil branch of the union Azad Mohammed Amin (Hakim Azad) .
Shafaq met the new chairman to congratulate him and raised many topics included several themes.

* What did your electoral program contain  and how much are you optimistic in achieving what it had ?
We seek to consolidate and strengthen relations with all channels and media organizations, and we will translate realism of the laws, decisions, and activate them at the level of practical application on the ground; to enhance the visibility and prestige of the press and journalists in the community, and will also seek to make journalists aware of the tasks of journalism further and make them actively participate in the responsibilities themselves within our quest to democratize the political and social life in Kurdistan .
*What about the journalists outside the region and their equality with their counterparts within the region?.

- We are a Kurdistani Union  and we consider ourselves  as responsible for all media in all parts of Kurdistan and for all the media anywhere in Kurdistan, including Baghdad, and we seek to strengthen those links with trade unions and their involvement in the achievements obtained by their peers in Kurdistan.
* News is talking about the intention of some parties to form a parallel union to the Union of the Kurdistan Syndicate of Journalists  how does it impact the Kurdistan Syndicate of Journalists?
The formation of organizations as civil society organizations is without doubt normal, but the formation of a union parallel and similar to ours has  no legal ground, because the Journalists union of Kurdistan has been formed under the law, so if you create another, it can not acquire this status
