"The agreements signed recently between Iraq and South Korea will have the great hallmarks on the Iraqi economy, particularly energy," asserting that "Iraq through the latter strides restores its political and economic relations with many countries of the world. It is an issue of too large dimensions to open the ring, which was drawn around Iraq even by its neighbors. "
He added that "A country like South Korea has great potentials in the field of economy, energy and various aspects of life, because Korea has a great experience in rebuilding of their homeland," noting that "The agreement of cooperation in the field of energy and other branches of the economy is a big issue. We suffer from the problem of scarcity and weakness of power in the whole country, and Korea has already built Musayyab station containing 6 units to produce electric power which is one of the very successful stations that was carried out by Hyundai. "
Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has headed a large delegation on a visit to South Korea, for the purpose of signing agreements for the development and expansion of political and economic relations, especially in the field of energy.
He explained that "It is possible for the Korean side to help the Iraqi side to cross the difficulties and challenges facing the economy, if properly exploited by the Iraqi ministries ."
