Writing the higher national strategy for the Advancement of Women, the strategy for combating violence against women, and writing a draft law on protection from domestic violence, and promotion of it through the establishment of six enlightenment workshops in several governorates
The president of the Women Progress Center Amal Alkabashi in an interview with Shafaq said that "the joint work program, signed by the Ministry of State for Women's Affairs with the UN is an important step for the advancement and protection from violence
Alkabashi demanded the Ministry of State for Women's Affairs to enable the civic organizations to take part in activating  the program.
For her part, President of Baghdad Women's Association, Lisa Nisan said, in an interview with Shafaq that "Iraqi women have been and continue to suffer from marginalization and exclusion and domestic violence, so we hope that the work of the joint program has a clear effect in protecting women from domestic violence and the promotion of their status ." stating that "the time has come to legislate laws to protect Iraqi women from the various  forms of violence against them."
